SWACCHA JIYO SWASTH JIYO, a multi-level health campaign for school children to create awareness on sanitation, hygiene and safe water management. The idea was to convert the school children to campaign ambassadors and take the issue to their communities using the communication tools and materials created.
The campaign has been widely accepted by the schools across states and has had a ripple effect at the community level, on its own.
Implemented across many states of India.
Creating a creative vehicle of the duo – Chacha (young uncle) and Chhutki (niece) as communication mascots, the campaign connects with the children and the community in an informative and entertaining manner. This has taken a life of its own with children now devising street plays, puppet shows using Chacha and Chutki, spreading awareness on sanitation in their own creative ways.
