This publicationdocuments the innovative architectural practices being developed and implemented in a disaster prone like Odisha in India. As the region is prone to frequent floods and cyclones, the innovations being executed for building homes brings hope to thousands in the region, enabling them to have sustainable livelihoods. The document stresses on both sociological aspects, the environmental considerations that have been factored in formulating long term architectural innovations benefiting the local communities.
This publication uses photographs, architectural drawings and diagrams to illustrate the blending of innovative technologies being implemented on ground and the benefits it is now bringing to the householders.
