The publication documents a unique project in the Civil Hospital of Kapurthala, in Punjab, India that has emerged as a pioneering effort of redressal for women who use drugs.
The ‘One Stop Integrated Model for Women Who Use Drugs’ is one of its kind that focusses on developing a comprehensive health and human rights-based model recommended by WHO. Rendering services from treatment to deaddiction facilities, counselling and rehabilitation this is one stop point of service and is now a strong program servicing 235 women with clinical and psychosocial interventions everyday.
Along with official information, informal interviews with the stakeholders i.e the patients, the support staff, the medical fraternity, this publication brings together diverse perspectives and practices that go in making this ‘One stop Model’.
The publication uses both photographs and sketches from the site to highlight the journey of a stellar effort, blending information with expressions, organically bringing together all the aspects that has made this pioneering endeavor a role model for drug user rehabilitation across the country.
