SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT CAMPAIGN has been a multi-level communication campaign created for school children, homemakers, rag pickers, sweepers and all those dealing with solid waste on a daily basis. The basic endeavor has been to create awareness on waste management, the journey of waste and most importantly safe health practices. The communication has attempted to sensitize the communityon daily household waste and mobilize homes to produce minimum disposable waste and recycle as much possible.
Implemented in Bihar in India.
Based on numerous interactions and discussions with the audience like homemakers, rag pickers, domestic help, school children, sanitation workers, the communication worked with bright illustrations inspired from the region’s traditional Madhubani art and a bold visual design. With the use of simple, strong messaging, the communication has had sense of ownership and solidarity among the various members of the community.
