YAARI DOSTI has been a campaign addressing the issue of Masculinity leading to gender-based violence. Discussing issues like male stereotypes, equal rights and responsibilities, gender-based interactions.
Emerging from several interactive workshops with men groups across socio-economic backgrounds the situations and stories created a platform for discussion on issues like gender-based discrimination, domestic violence, financial independence and mobility, freedom of expression and life choices.
Implemented in the state of Maharashtra in India.
In sync with the diversity of social norms and customs where Gender based Violence is a much lived problem, the materials were created with bright visuals and using the spoken word, discussing the macro problem through everyday episodes and domestic issues both for men and women. The materials have had an empowering tone creating a sense of ownership in the community.
