(Behavioral Change Communication/ IEC/ Menstrual Health)
WOH 4 DIN is a comic book that discusses the issue of Menstrual Hygiene with school girls from the city across economic categories and backgrounds. The book discusses the issue of menstrual hygiene normally kept under societal wraps and never discussed in the open. The idea of using a comic book format was to normalize the issue and discuss in the open of what is essentially a health issue.
Implemented in the state of Delhi in India.
Creating a comic on a subject like menstrual health can be challenging. But the idea was to pitch the issue as a normal health issue and demystify it.To make it interesting and motivating instead of intimidating, the stories were told to sensitize the young readers using relatable settings, characters and language that made the comic identifiable with the young girls and understand the issue.
